Dog Evaluation Session
A one-on-one assessment of your dog's temperament, drive, and obedience baseline. This is where we figure out what your dog needs and which program fits before you commit to anything further.

Every program we run is built on the same four pillars — the ones that separate a dog that's merely trained from one you can truly rely on.
The foundation of everything. Clear structure and consistent communication, so your dog knows exactly what's being asked.
Controlled protection work built on a stable temperament — a dog that switches on when asked and off when it matters.
We read a dog's natural drives — prey, scent, pack — and channel them into purposeful, rewarding work.
Confidence under pressure. A dog that recovers quickly, stays clear-headed, and trusts its handler anywhere.
A focused one-on-one session to assess temperament, drive, and your goals.
A clear, structured plan matched to your dog — not a one-size-fits-all package.
Private lessons and group work that build reliability around real-world distractions.

AKC-registered Belgian Malinois, health-tested before breeding and before any puppy goes home. Every litter is raised with early temperament and aptitude assessment, so each dog finds the work it was made for.

Douglas has spent over 15 years training dogs hands-on — first with his own, then with friends' and family's dogs as word got around. His methods are grounded in the drive-based, relationship-focused training pioneered by Michael Ellis, and he's fully committed to the Belgian Malinois: their drive, their intelligence, and what they're capable of with the right structure and relationship. He's currently raising a new Malinois puppy he's training from the ground up with the goal of competition — the same start-to-finish process every ODIN-K9 dog goes through.

This all started with him. Koba was Douglas's first Malinois, and everything ODIN-K9 has become traces back to what he taught along the way. He's the grandfather of the dogs we work with today, and every dog that comes through this kennel carries a piece of him forward.
